Coaches

All coaches MUST wear appropriate attire while coaching, particularly while in the coaching box by the platform.  Coaches are not allowed to wear hats anywhere near the competition platform. This must be USA Powerlifting related, your USA Powerlifting registered team or one of the official event sponsor logos if not a blank attire.  If staff or referees determine your attire inappropriate, you will be required to change in order to continue coaching.

No problem! Make sure your new coach/handler has a current USA Powerlifting membership and a ticket to access the warm-up room during your session.

Tickets can be purchased on this page: Purchase Coaches Passes

All Coaches at the Arnold must be registered USA Powerlifting members to have access to any of the warm-up and backstage areas.

Coaches, there are TWO separate steps for you:

  1. Arnold Expo Wristband. Your athlete will be given your Expo wristband when they pick up their athlete credentials. Please coordinate with them to retrieve your wristband.
  2. Purchase your Coach’s Pass. This will get you into the warm-up room and staging area for your lifters. Coaches’ passes are $30 per session.  They are transferable to another coach should you not be able to attend. (Coach’s passes for the warm-up area will be available after January 20th and can be purchased up to the start of the weigh-in session)

Each coach must purchase a ticket for each session they are coaching to get into the warm-up and staging area. The cost is $30 per session.

Records

Yes, world records can be set at all the events at the Arnold. Below is from our rulebook.

7.4.5. At pro meets and national championships, it is the lifter’s responsibility to inform the scoring table
staff of any world record attempt so that the appropriate referees can be in place to adjudicate
the attempt. This must be done when the attempt for the world record is submitted to allow
enough time to coordinate any reconfiguration of the platform referees. There will be no recourse
for lifters who successfully break a world record but failed to ensure the appropriate referees
adjudicated the attempt (see Item 7.4.4). Under no circumstances will a world record be validated
if it was not adjudicated by the appropriate referees.

You can also obtain a copy of our rulebook here. Section 7.4 talks about World records specifically.

Referee

We require referees throughout the weekend.  Fill out the volunteer form below if you can help. We will notify you in advance of the referee schedule:
