FAQ

Coaches

All coaches MUST wear appropriate attire (including hats) while coaching, particularly while in the coaching box by the platform.  This must be USA Powerlifting related, your USA Powerlifting registered team or one of the official event sponsor logos if not a blank attire.  If staff or referees determine your attire inappropriate, you will be required to change in order to continue coaching.

If you have changed your coach from the one listed, no problem! If the January 15th deadline has not passed for submitting your coaches name, simply click on the Edit Link in your email confirmation for your Coach’s Expo Wristband and update the information necessary.

If after the January 15th deadline, the new coach will not receive the free expo wristband.  They will receive the wristband to the warm-up/staging area with proof of current USA Powerlifting membership.

All U.S. Coaches at the Arnold must be a registered USA Powerlifting Member to have access to any of the warm-up and backstage areas.

Your membership card will need to be shown along with your government-issued ID at the registration table.

All Coaches will then receive a wristband that will grant them access to the designated areas for the session(s) you have a lifter.

Each coach will register per session they are coaching to get into the warm-up and staging area. The cost is $20 per session. Those registered by January 15th will receive an Arnold Expo wristband, this will get then into the Expo all three days of the Arnold.  Coach’s Expo Wristband Form (Submitted by the athlete only!)

The Expo wristband is separate from the coach’s wristbands that will get your coach into the warm-up room and staging area.

If you register after January 15th, they will need to pay for their expo band.

All Coaches must be registered members of USA Powerlifting. Read more HERE.

Squat Challenge

  • You will be given a start command by the head referee. That will be the ONLY command you will receive.
  • You will be required to squat to depth and stand fully erect between each rep.
  • You will have as much time as you want to finish your reps.
  • Should the head ref feel you are unsafe on the platform, they are permitted to have the spotters take the bar.
  • There will be a 2-minute clock between the completion of the last lifters rep and when you will be required to receive the start command from the head ref, this is an additional minute from the normal rules due to the nature of not having a predictable amount of time for the squatter on the platform (ie, 1 rep vs many)
